    Billing at medpods:

    Does Medpod’s bulk bill patients or do I have to pay a GAP?
    All patients are bulk billed through Medicare.

    Can I use my DVA card at the clinic?
    Absolutely. We support all Defence Force personnel and their commitment they have to Australia.

    Can I use my private medical cover to pay for a consult? i.e. BUPA
    Your medical private insurance is for use only in the hospital. However, you do not have to pay to see a doctor at a Medpod.

    What happens if I am an international traveler? Do I have to pay for my consultation or can I use my international travel insurance?
    You will have to pay for the account by cash or credit card on the day. Your reciept can be used for claiming from your insurance company.

    How do I register at the clinic?
    Please register your details at the kiosk or telephone one of our friendly staff.

    Is Medpod’s a walk-in clinic or can I book a time that suits me?
    You can either book online, over the phone or at the kiosk. Alternatively, you can just visit the clinic to see if there are any appointments available.

    How and when to contact us:

    Can I book or make an enquiry online?
    Yes, you can book an appointment or make an enquiry on our website. However, no clinical information regarding your health should be emailed to the practice.

    What are the opening days and times?
    Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
    Some time in the future, we will be opening at the weekends.

    How to contact the clinic directly?
    Preferred contact is via the website.
    Second preference is via telephone.

    Where are Medpods located? How many are there?
    The first Medpod is located in North Lakes. The Medpod phenomenon will rapidly spread which will enable the patient to visit any Medpod throughout Australia.

    Clinic services:

    What are the estimated wait times for a consultation?
    15 minutes. However, please bear in mind that sometimes we will have emergency situations. If the doctor is running too late, we will always try and call or SMS you to notify you of the delay.

    Can I obtain a medical certificate at Medpod’s?
    Yes, make an appointment with the doctor who can issue a medical certificate if required.

    Can I obtain referrals from Medpods?
    Yes. Speak with your doctor about the referral system. However, all patients must attend the practice to receive a referral.

    Are vaccinations available at the Medpod’s?
    Yes, speak to the doctor or one of our friendly staff to discuss your vaccination requirements.

    Where is the closest radiology/pathology to Medpods?

    • SNP, Northlakes Day Hospital (1.2kms away from Westfield)
    • I-MED Radiology Network (1.2kms away from Westfield)
    • QLD Diagnostic Imaging (1.5kms away from Westfield)

    Can I attend the Medpod for Workcover claims and consultations?
    Any work -related matters can be dealt with at the practice. For your first Workcover visit, you will be required to pay for the consultation by cash or credit card unless you have a valid claim number. The doctor will give you paper work to pass onto your company and Workcover officer.

    Can pre-employment medicals be completed at Medpods?
    We will be able to perform some pre- employment medicals. However, prior to booking, please contact the Medpod and make sure we have a copy of the papers so we can confirm fees and the length of the consultation required.

    Are small surgical procedures done at the clinic, i.e. sutures?
    Yes, make an appointment with the doctor to be assessed. Our doctors perform minor surgical procedures including removal of skin cancers, wound repairs, sutures etc

    Are crutches/wheelchairs available for hire from medpods?
    Crutches and wheelchairs are not available at Medpod’s. Enquiries should be made at the local chemist or hospital.
